Thank you, LAVA Center!

It was a joy to have my play “The Voices” be a part of the On the Boards table read series on June 29, 2025 at the LAVA Center in Greenfield, MA, and an honor to be a part of a program with so many talented playwrights and actors.

Special thanks goes out to the actors who read in my play: Cynthia Claudio, Ryn Griffin, Liza Manchester, and Clara Witty. Thank you Hia Ghosh for stage directions, and Ash Goverman for putting it all together!

I look forward to working with the LAVA Center again!

3 Readings — 3 Plays — 3 States — 6 Weeks

I’m delighted to share that three of my plays will have readings/discussions over a six week period in May and June of 2025.

“A Rare Medium” featuring one of Kate Warne’s cases as the first female Pinkerton, will be read on May 14 by the Lumos Players in Ohio. Kate and her team go undercover in the occult to thwart a pair of adulterous poisoners.

JUST A DROP featuring Giulia Tofana, herbalist and poisoner, will be discussed as part of The Athena Project’s Read ‘n Rant series in Colorado on May 19. Old and new enemies threaten Giulia and her dedicated circle of herbalists in 17th century Rome.

“The Voices” which is a contemporary 10-minute play, will have a table read at the LAVA Center in Greenfield, MA on June 29. A writer’s inner critcis externalize & give her a hard time as she tries to finish a contracted novel.

I’m absolutely delighted for these development opportunities, and grateful to the theatres supporting them.

“A Rare Medium” Accepted for Staged Reading

I’m delighted that one of my plays about Kate Warne, the first female Pinkerton, has been accepted as part of a staged reading series by the Lumos Players in Landon, Ohio.

“A Rare Medium” follows Kate and her team on a long undercover operation as psychics to thwart an adulterous poisoner couple — with some interesting twists. Inspired by one of Kate’s real cases.

Details and ZOOM link to the performance to follow. It will be read in May of 2025.

The Effie Effect is in the Can!

“The Effie Effect” recorded on November 12, out on the west coast. Now we’re headed to post-production.

Heartfelt thanks to actors Sean Faye, Rebecca Larsen, Pat Towne, and Leigh Wulff for the joy, dedication and talent they brought to the work.

Also deep thanks to director Jaime Robledo, producer Rebecca Lynne of Dean Productions, sound designer Dean Jackson and composer Ryan Johnson.

What a great team! Grateful to be part of it.

I’ll post the release date once we have it.

“The Effie Effect” is in Rehearsal!

My comic noir mystery “The Effie Effect” is in rehearsal with Dean Productions.

The cast & director are in LA, so I’m ZOOMing in for rehearsals and production meetings.

So delighted to work with this talented group!

Thank you, Barr Hill Players!

Thank you so much to the Barr Hill Players and the delightful cast for the SERENE & DETERMINED reading at La Mama Galleria on July 17. It was an honor and a privilege to work with them. The joy and commitment they took in the work was wonderful.

“The Effie Effect” under contract

I’m delighted to announce that my comic noir mystery play “The Effie Effect” is contracted to Dean Productions Theatre in LA for audio production in their “Premiere the Play” 2025 series.

The piece will record this autumn and release next summer.

The play had a staged reading as part of “Play With Your Food” Festival on Cape Cod a few years ago; I rewrote it last year and submitted the new draft to this theatre, and it was the right match.

I’m very excited to work with them over the coming months.

SERENE & DETERMINED Reading

I’m delighted that my plaly SERENE & DETERMINED, about the painter Lavinia Fontana, will have a staged reading by the Barr HIll Players at La Mama Galleria in NYC in July.

This play was originally created as part of the 365 Women a Year Playwrighting Project, and has been through several drafts since.

I’m delighted it will come to life, and very thankful to the Barr Hill Players.
